

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 10-year-old boy is dead, and four others, including two children, are being treated for serious injuries after a crash on Saturday morning.
According to North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCSHP), a driver ran off NC 96 near Doyle Road in Wake County and hit a tree.
Troopers say the driver, 40-year-old Correll Jermaine Deans, was injured and left the scene after the crash. He was later arrested and taken to WakeMed.
A total of five people were inside the SUV, ranging in age from 4 to 35, when it crashed, NCSHP says.
The 10-year-old who died is identified as Miking Daniel.

He was also served an outstanding Nash County warrant for felony heroin possession and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia.
He is being held at the Wake County Detention Center without bond, and investigators say more charges are possible.
